Love lives like a song in the city...
a song of despair
which can't be forgotten.
Blood trickles down from the city's dark walls
red,like raw love...
Love lives like a flame in the city's heart
stamped over by millions of feet
everyday.
It quivers and struggles to live,
trying to light up a few dark corners...
Love lives like a perfect circle
etched in sand,
defaced each day by the fury of the waves
but leaving traces nevertheless.
Love lives like a half-forgotten scent
stifled by the stench of the city's sweat and grime...
Still Love lives
like a silent ghost leaving invisible footsteps,
like a faithful dog who trails the city
scavenging for a little hope in the pile of ashes.
And still Love lives
like a blue stain
in the little flames
of hundreds of candles lit in her name
by people who still have Faith.
